1 Dead, Nearly 2 Dozen Hurt After Queens Fire Spreads to 3 Buildings, Officials Say A devastating fire in Queens, New York, left one person dead and nearly two dozen injured when it spread to three buildings on 41st Road near College Point Boulevard.
The blaze was eventually brought under control by over 250 firefighters. The wooden frame buildings, constructed in 1930, were particularly susceptible to spreading fires due to their design.
According to Chief of Fire Operations Kevin Woods, "Wood frame buildings... they're all wood.
